Special Right Triangles

Reference figure 5 is a right triangle with a 30degree angle and a 60degree angle. The side opposite the 30degree angle is labeled x. The side opposite the 60degree angle is labeled x times the square root of 3. The side opposite the right angle is labeled 2 x.

Reference figure 6 is a right triangle with two 45degree angles. Two sides are each labeled s. The side opposite the right angle is labeled s times the square root of 2.

Reference figure 7 is a rectangular solid whose base has length ℓ and width w and whose height is h. An equation is presented below reference figure 7.

For questions 16 through 20, solve the problem and record your answer in the spaces provided on the answer sheet, as described in the following directions and examples.

1. Although not required, it is suggested that your answer be recorded in the boxes at the top of the columns to help fill in the circles accurately. You will receive credit only if the circles are filled in correctly.

2. Mark no more than one circle in any column.

Two dynamic defensemen who both suited up for the MLAC U16 AAA last season, our two newest Visionary student athletes, Julien Gauvreau and Akaash Johal! Welcome, Julien and Akaash!🥳

Julien a 2006 born, is the perfect example of a true modern day defenceman. He plays a full 200-foot game, locking down his own end while also looking to be involved in the rush to support the attack, a true two-way force.💪

Akaash is a smooth skating, 2006 born left-handed offensive defenceman, who can log big minutes night in, night out, and can create a scoring chance out of nothing because of his elite edge work. The Edmonton native led the league in goals by defensemen with 15🚨.

Both these gifted defensemen are coming off impressive seasons, as they both finished top 5 in team scoring. Both just scratching the surface of their true potential, we can't wait to see what they do this season!🚀

This D pair spent the last season dominating the ice together for the CAC Canadians U18 AA, our two newest Visionary student athletes,  Ty Fraser and  Josh Missfeldt! Welcome, Ty and Josh!🥳

Ty Fraser is a 2005 born defenceman who is an offensively gifted player but that doesn't take away from his ability to shut down opposing players in his own end. A true leader on and off the ice.

Josh Missfeldt is a 2005 born defenceman that is calm, cool, and collected on the back end. A smooth skater with strong mobility to jump into the play, his offensive upside is always on display.

We know Ty and Josh are both committed to putting in the work on and off the ice. The sky really is the limit for these two highly gifted defensemen this season and beyond!
