Tell us about your hometown, family and hobbies.
I live in a small town called legal. There’s about 1500 people that live here. I have a family of 5, in which I am the youngest of 3 boys. My hobbies are playing hockey and working on cars.
How did you originally begin playing hockey (what age as well) and what is your favorite memory from when you were younger?
I started playing hockey when I was about 3-4 years old. I got into hockey mostly because of my older brothers. They both played at the time. My favorite memory would be trying on my equipment before tryouts the next day.
Who is your favorite NHL player and who do you model your game after? Why?
My favorite hockey player would have to be Sidney Crosby, and I model my game after Quinn Hughes. I picked Hughes because he’s not a big defenseman, just like me, but he’s very agile and offensive. That’s how I play the game as well.
What team did you play for? What was your favorite part from the season?
I played for the High Prairie Red Wings, and the best part of the season was winning the league championship.
What are your top goals as a student athlete? Why are they your top goals?
My top goals would be to make it to the NCAA, to take good university classes and the opportunity to play professionally.
How important is school from your perspective? Why is it that way?
I would say school is very important to me. That’s the case because it gives me the opportunity to work on my knowledge and improve from where I was yesterday.
What would it mean to you to play at the NCAA or Pro level?
It would be a dream come true and a great experience.
What separates you as a player or person? How do you continue to get better?
I would say my size and mindset separate me from the rest. I’ve been fortunate enough to be given lots of tools to help me reach my potential.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I’m trying to have a good impact on the sport by making other people like the game and want to play it everyday, and I want every team I play for to be very successful.
