Tell us about your hometown, family, and hobbies:
I was born in Edmonton. Most of my relatives live here. Edmonton is a great city for sports and outdoor activities. I have one brother and one sister. We all encourage each other to strive for our goals and admire each other’s accomplishments. I enjoy the outdoors, fishing, hunting, hiking and quadding. I have an interest in fixing old muscle cars and enjoy helping my dad with renovations and building things.
How did you originally begin playing hockey (what age as well) and what is your favorite memory from when you were younger?
I started playing hockey on my uncles outdoor rink when I was four years old. I started playing in Initiation with KC. One of my memories is with the KC hornets when I scored the winning goal and my team won the gold medal in a shootout.
Who is your favorite NHL player and who do you model your game after? Why?
My favourite player is Sidney Crosby. I model myself after Quinn Hughes because he is a smaller defenceman like me, and we both have similar player styles.
What team do/did you play for? What was your favorite part from the season?
The last team I played for was the KC Centennials. Though the season was short due to covid, I really enjoyed the coaching and mentorship from the coaches.
What are your top goals as a student athlete? Why are they your top goals?
One of my goals is to perform at the best of my abilities and be a strong and dedicated hockey player. My perseverance to motivate myself to be a strong hockey player and always on top of my game will allow me to gain recognition from top hockey teams such as playing in the NCAA. The reasoning behind my motives is maintaining a healthy lifestyle, prioritizing fitness to build on my endurance and strength and lastly listening to feedback from coaches and valuing that to improve my hockey strategies.
How important is school from your perspective? Why are they your top goals?
School is important as it will be my fall back if my hockey career does not advance.
What would it mean to you to play at the NCAA or Pro Level?
It’s been my dream to play at the highest level of hockey such as the NCAA. I am working hard to achieve these goals.
What separates you as a player or person? How do you continue to get better?
I listen to my coaches and mentors, continuously watch game videos they send. I have aggressive workout sessions to keep me fit and I try to be on the ice as much as I can.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
Continue to be a leader on all the teams I play with. I hope to inspire younger kids to play hockey. Continue to participate in community work with my teams that help the less fortunate.
One fun fact about yourself?
To build a fast car and beat my dad at the track.
