Tell us about your hometown, family and hobbies.
I grew up outside of a small town called Blackie. I have lived on a family farm all my life and learned many of the aspects that go along with it. This shaped many of my interests while helping out on the farm and creating
hobbies like dirt biking. Summer holidays allow me to enjoy other interests such as wake surfing and golf.
How did you originally begin playing hockey (what age as well) and what is your favorite memory from when you were younger?
I began playing with many of my friends when I was about 5. It was a fun place where I could be with friends and enjoy a new game. My favorite memory was the first cool glove save I made as a goalie and the feelings that came with it.
Who is your favorite NHL player and who do you model your game after? Why?
Carey Price. I model my game after him and he is my favorite NHL player. This is because he has an amazing flow, simplicity, and calmness to his game while making just about every save. I strive to achieve this as well. Furthermore, he is one of the best goalies in NHL history.
What team did you play for? What was your favorite part from the season?
I played for International Hockey Academy (IHA) U18 prep. With the limited season we had, the best part was being at the rink and practices with all of the boys and the bond everyone had along with the many new friendships.
What are your top goals as a student athlete? Why are they your top goals?
My top goal is to get a scholarship at a university or college level hockey team. This would allow me to pursue further education and at the same time enjoy the game of hockey.
How important is school from your perspective? Why is it that way?
I see school as the number one. All my life I have grown up knowing the importance of academics and the role that it can play in ones life. There are many ways to succeed but further education is one of the best ways.
What would it mean to you to play at the NCAA or Pro level?
Playing at the NCAA level is my dream and my main goal. Achieving this would mean that all my hard work has paid off and it would help me further achieve my academic goals.
What separates you as a player or person? How do you continue to get better?
What separates me as a player and person is my work ethic and my ability to learn new ideas. Keeping my mind open and being able to work hard allows me to constantly improve on and off the ice.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
I am looking to create many more friendships with people throughout my athletic career. I am also looking to help my team and be successful on and off the ice with the ultimate goal of furthering my education.
