Tell us about your hometown, family and hobbies.
My name is Conrad Hall, I was born in Fort St. John but I now live in West Kelowna. I am the middle child of 2 brothers (Easton and Spencer) and my parents’ names are Jeff and Jamie.
How did you originally begin playing hockey (what age as well) and what is your favourite memory from when you were younger?
I started skating when I was 3 and my dad put a stick in my hand when I was 4. I started playing hockey because my dad and my older brother played. I idolized both of them Especially at a young age so they are the main reason why I joined hockey.
My favorite hockey memory of hockey when I was younger was when I was in Atom second year when my team won our hometown tournament. It is my favorite hockey memory from when I was younger because we were the underdogs and weren’t supposed to win, but we all pulled it together and got the win.
Who is your favourite NHL player and who do you model your game after? Why?
My favorite NHL players are Tyler Motte. I like them because they are hardworking, simple, gritty and reliable players. I try to model my game around them because we are very similar in height and playing style, we all play a big game for our sizes and are very physical, we are great on the penalty kill, hard on the forecheck, and are always a pain to have to play against.
What team do/did you play for? What was your favorite part from the season?
Last year, I played for the Okanagan Rockets U15 AAA team. We had a very successful season finishing 4th in the regular season, but then rallying to the finals in the playoffs but fell short in the gold medal game. My favorite part of the season was the playoff tournament that we did. I liked it the most because we came together as a team and had a lot of great memories and clutch moments.
What are your top goals as a student athlete? Why are they your top goals?
In school, I want to try my best to maintain A’s. I have for the most part and want to have those high grades because it helps when you want to get into any prestigious schools or any post-secondary school.
How important is school from your perspective? Why is it that way?
School is very important in my eyes, even though it can be very stressful. It is something you have to focus on to be successful.
What would it mean to you to play at the NCAA or Pro level?
If I would be able to play in the NCAA or any professional league it would be an honor, if I could get schooling or do what I love as a job, it would be a dream come true.
What separates you as a player or person? How do you continue to get better?
What separates me from other players is that I am a positive teammate, hardworking and I never give up.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports careers (community, team, success, etc.)
The impact that I want to have on my community is to inspire kids. I want to show kids that you don’t have to be the best player but if you work super hard that it will get you a long way.
One fun fact about yourself.
One fun fact about me is I taught myself how to read when I was 2 years old.
