Tell us about your hometown, family and hobbies.
I was born in Golden BC, January 20, 2005.I have three siblings – two sisters and one brother. Golf, basketball, baseball (other sports in general) and working out are all my hobbies.
How did you originally begin playing hockey (what age as well) and what is your favorite memory
from when you were younger?
When I was around 7 or 8 I had some friends who played hockey and one day I decided I would give it a try and immediately fell in love with it. My favorite memory from when I was younger was just being able to meet new people and interact with new teammates every year.
Who is your favorite NHL player and who do you model your game after? Why?
My favorite NHL player is Nathan Mackinnon. I also try to model my game after him because he plays at such a high speed and is still able to make incredible plays at that speed. Another player
would be Patrice Bergeron, who is an incredible 200-foot player and one of the best in the NHL at winning faceoffs.
What team do/did you play for? What was your favorite part from the season?
I played for the KC U16 AAA Centennials. My favorite part of the season was getting to learn from coaches that I have never been taught by and getting to learn new styles of play from different
perspectives.
What are your top goals as a student athlete? Why are they your top goals?
My top goals as a student athlete are to receive honors every year in high school, which will open up even more doors when looking to play at the NCAA level and is my main goal as a student
athlete. Playing in the NCAA is my main goal because the chance to play hockey at such a high level with such great competition, while still getting an education that will be beneficial in the future,
is the best of both worlds in terms of hockey career and future life after hockey.
How important is school from your perspective? Why is it that way?
School to me is the most important thing in my hockey career because the route I am looking to take is through university/college hockey and school is a critical part when trying to get to that level. Also, I know that hockey can’t last forever and having an education will allow me to have something to lean on in my future.
What would it mean to you to play at the NCAA or Pro level?
Being able to play at the NCAA and eventually pro level will be a huge honor and a dream come true. Ever since I started playing (and I know this is the same for a lot of people) everyone has this
dream of eventually playing pro. In my opinion, the NCAA to me is very similar to playing pro. It is your job and you are dedicating hours and hours to it every single day. So, eventually playing pro or NCAA would be such a surreal experience that I would never forget and the chance to play, practice, and train with some of the best in the world would be an amazing opportunity.
What separates you as a player or person? How do you continue to get better?
I think that my ability to lead by example, utilize hard work, and my leadership skills are what separate me from the rest. I am someone who will persevere through the tough situations and do whatever it takes to win and be successful. I continuously push myself everyday, whether it is on the ice working on something, working out, or shooting and stickhandling pucks in my garage. I am always trying to improve myself to give me that edge over the competition.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports career? (Community, team, success, etc)
Through hockey and sports, I aim to be able to get the opportunity to help others and my family and give back to those who helped me along my journey to reach my goals. In terms of team impact, I want to be someone who a team is able to rely on and trust in important situations to get the job done. I aim to succeed at any cost and do whatever it takes so that the team is able to win.
One fun fact about yourself.
I moved away from home when I was 13, so that I could play for a team that I knew was going to be
able to help me develop as a player and person.
