Tell us about your hometown, family and hobbies.
I am from St. Albert, Alberta where I live with my dad, Joe, my mom, Daniele, and my sister, Abby. I love playing any sport, but my favourites are hockey, golf, basketball and working out.
How did you originally begin playing hockey (what age as well) and what is your favourite memory from when you were younger?
My family has always loved hockey so I picked it up when I was about the age of 4 and have loved it ever since. My favourite memory is when I scored the OT winner in game one of the second round of playoffs vs SSAC in Bantam AAA.
Who is your favourite NHL player and who do you model your game after? Why?
My favourite hockey players are Drew Doughty, and Cale Makar. I model my game after Victor Hedman because he is a big D-man who makes a good first pass, and is not afraid to lay the body.
What team do/did you play for? What was your favorite part from the season?
I currently play for the U18 AAA Raiders. My favourite part from this season was going to Calgary for my first tournament of the season with my teammates, and some of our wins this season.
What are your top goals as a student athlete? Why are they your top goals?
My top goals are to earn a spot in the AJHL next year, and then move on to play in the NCAA after that. I have seen so many great NHL players come from the NCAA and it looks like an awesome experience.
How important is school from your perspective? Why is it that way?
School is so important to me, because it is such a crucial part in getting to that next level and it is something you need later in life after hockey is done.
What would it mean to you to play at the NCAA or Pro level?
It would mean so much, because I have dreamed of being there since I was little. Getting to that college or even professional stage would be amazing. So I am going to keep working until I reach my goals.
What separates you as a player or person? How do you continue to get better?
I am someone that comes to the rink every day and wants to get better. I love watching hockey and taking note of what every successful hockey player does, and I try to replicate the moves and add them to my game.
What impact are you looking to have in your sports careers (community, team, success, etc.)
I am looking to make a difference in my community off the ice, while I still contribute and create success for my team when I’m on the ice. I am working to become the best person on and off the ice.
One fun fact about yourself.
I actually won defensemen of the year in Bantam AAA and also led the league in points for a defensemen that year.
